OpenPop Wins Award for Excellence in Academic Outreach

We here at OpenPop are proud to announce that we can now call ourselves an award-winning collaborative blog on global population issues!

On June 16, Stuart and Francesco accepted an OxTALENT (“Teaching and Learning Enhanced with Technology”) award in the Open Practices category. The OxTALENT competition is conducted annually by the University of Oxford’s IT Services and ‘celebrates and rewards the innovative use of digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning, research and outreach at the University’. The Open Practices category is specifically for initiatives that are online, free, and intended to expand research and outreach beyond Oxford.

As we enter OpenPop’s third year, we’re very encouraged by the recognition of the work that we do. The past two years has seen the blog expand beyond anything we could have imagined, and we look forward to a greater global engagement with population studies and the pressing issues facing our world today.
